Chi Sau Mistakes

Chi Sau Mistakes

Chi Sau Mistakes

James Sinclair is the Founder and Chief Instructor of the prestigious UK Wing Chun Kung Fu Assoc.

Founded in 1985 it has produced many of the leading Wing Chun teachers available.

In this short excerpt James discusses some common chi sau mistakes.  These are errors in the ‘thinking’ to the approach toward Chi Sau.

Chi Sau is not a fight, it is a cooperative approach to training, where both sides aim to improve their skills.  Just like sparring is different to a fight.

Wing Chun uses the unique approach of Double Sticky Hands in a cooperative manner in order that both parties learn and gain experience.

When students test their ability sometimes the co-opeation breaks down, however, the respect, control and skill must not.

James conducts one seminar every month which are over 3 hours long and cover only a specific subject.  These are called MasterClasses.

The seminars are held on the third Sunday of the month at the UK Wing Chun Kung Fu Assoc. Nartional HQ in Rayleigh Essex.

Numbers are strictly limited and advanced booking is essential.
